A Thousand Lifetimes

I lived a thousand lifetimes today
Each one more real than the last
Each one exclaiming, "oh now I get it!"
Each one thinking, "this is the real one"

Each one believing now I've arrived
Now I'm at the end of the journey
Now I've figured out what I thought all along
Now I've found the meaning of it all

Each one falling away to reveal yet another
Each one reminding me I've only just begun
Each one complete and not, 
    a whole fragment of the whole

I lived a thousand lifetimes today
And still found my way back to this one.
